Jesus set to return for City

English Premier League side Manchester City posted pictures of star striker Gabriel Jesus’ returned to training for the first time on Monday since February after breaking his foot.

The Brazilian has been out of action since fracturing his metatarsal in the win at Bournemouth about two months ago but recently returned to the gym as he stepped up his recovery.

In Tuesday’s press conference ahead of City’s clash with league leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, Manager Pep Guardiola gave an update on the 20-year-old’s fitness.

“Yesterday (Monday) was his first day running on the pitch. I don’t know exactly how many weeks it will be but he is at the end part of the process. Hopefully he can help us over the last games,” Pep said.

Jesus, who arrived at the club in January, scored three times in his first four Manchester City games before suffering his injury at Bournemouth on 13 February.

Chelsea hosts Man City on Wednesday after facing a shock defeat against Crystal Palace last weekend.
