The highly anticipated fight between WBA and IBF world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker could be confirmed this week, promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed.

Hearn revealed on Tuesday that further talks will take place with Parker’s representatives in the coming days in the hope of getting a bout agreed.

Both Britain’s Joshua and New Zealand’s Parker are unbeaten in their professional careers.

“[Parker’s promoter] David Higgins landed this morning and we are meeting this afternoon to plough the agreement and solve any outstanding issues.

“If we can do that then it’s likely Joseph Parker will jump on a plane towards the end of the week. Fingers crossed”, Hearn told Sky Sports.

Joshua is seeking to add Parker’s WBO crown to his WBA and IBF titles, before a possible meeting with American WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

No boxer has held all four heavyweight belts simultaneously.
