Gunmen abduct five persons in Kaduna

Some gunmen have kidnapped an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Musa Rambo along the Kaduna-Jos road.

The victim was the serving Area Commander of Suleja, Niger State.

Kaduna state police command while confirming the incident, said its men had swung into action to secure his release and apprehend the culprits.

It was learnt that the kidnappers had been demanding for the sum of N50 million as ransom to release the ACP.

In a statement, the Kaduna command’s PPRO, DSP Yakubu Sabo, said on 19/10/2019 at about 1530hrs a team of Operation Safe Heaven along Barde – Jos reported that, a Nissan Murano with Reg No. KRD 753 BT ash in color with a Police I.D. Card bearing ACP I Musa Rambo, the incumbent Area Commander Suleja was found.

“The vehicle was found abandoned around Kanock Bridge a Boarder area between Kaduna and Nasarawa States which occupant was suspected to have been kidnapped along Barde to Jos Road by Kanock Forest.

“Contact has been established with the kidnappers requesting for ransom. Efforts are on top gear towards rescuing the victim and arresting the culprits.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Ali Aji Janga assures members of the public that, the Command is doing everything possible to secure the release of the victim.

“He also enjoins the good people of Kaduna State to continue to support the Police with relevant information that will help the Command to overcome the recent security problems.”

Kaduna State has recently been In the news, with reports of kidnappings in some parts of the state.

Ripples Nigeria had reported how gunmen few days ago invaded Government Technical College, Mararaban Kajuru in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and kidnapped the principal of the school.
This occurred a week after gunmen kidnapped six female pupils, vice principal and a matron at the Engravers College, Kakau Daji in Chikun Local Government Area of the State.
