Kenya set to impose lie detector test to fish out corrupt officials

The al-Shabab militants who attacked an upscale hotel and office complex in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi have all been killed according to incoming reports.

That much information was revealed by Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta who stated that calm has been restored in the area after the deadly attack.

“The security operation at dusit complex is over, and all the terrorists eliminated,” President Uhuru Kenyatta told the nation, looking drained and grave.

“As of this moment, we can confirm that 14 innocent lives were lost through the hands of these murderous terrorists.”

Reports say the attack saw the gunmen blast their way into the hotel and office complex which sent workers diving under desks to save their lives.

The attack was immediately claimed by feared militant group al-Shabab.

“We are currently conducting an operation in Nairobi,” the group’s military operations spokesman told Al Jazeera.

A woman working in a neighbouring building who witnessed the incident said; “We are under attack,” another person in an office inside a complex in the Dusit hotel told the Reuters news agency, then hung up. Local television showed smoke rising from the area.

Reports say flames and plumes of black smoke billowed into the sky from the parking lot of the compound where several vehicles were on fire, with scores of people fleeing the compound, some of them lightly injured.
