Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed great satisfaction with Odion Ighalo’s incredible start to career at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has hinted that the striker, who has only six months on his contract, could land himself a permanent move.

The Nigerian forward scored his fourth goal in three starts for the Red Devils in Thursday night’s 5-0 thrashing of LASK in the Europa League.

Ighalo bagged a superb goal to open the scoring on 28 minutes when he recieved a pass from Bruno Fernandes, juggled the ball from right foot to left before dispatching a left-footed shot in off the crossbar from 18 yards.

The effort was a wonder to behold, as United bench turned to their monitor to watch the replay of the goal in an almost empty stadium in Austria.

“He (Ighalo) has qualities that we saw in him that we needed and we’ll still need those qualities for next season so let’s see what we do,” said Solskjaer after the game.

“He is very good back to goal, you can play up to him. Great link player, but maybe the best thing about him is his personality, so he’s got the whole lot really.

“He had three touches before his fourth, the finish. All them touches were high quality but he had to make them to create the space for himself.

“But the strike is on the half-volley, great timing. No-one would have saved that one so anyone would be proud of that finish.”

Ighalo’s loan move to United was not generally welcomed by fans.

But since making his first appearance for his boyhood club, Ighalo’s successes have attracted applause from every corner, including the fans that never wanted him.
