Mother of 3 stabbed to death by lover over condom

A 38-year-old mother of three kids identified as Gladys Okoh has been stabbed to death in Benin, the Edo State capital by her lover after he found a condom in her bag.

Reports say the victim was once married before she started dating her lover Osarwinda Idumwonyi who reportedly stabbed her thrice with a kitchen knife over infidelity.

According to a police source, the suspect committed the crime at the victim’s aged mother’s room at No13, Ehiyoboy Street, off Aifuwa Street, off Upper Sokponba Road, Benin, few hours after she allegedly left her lover’s residence, where she had passed the night.

However, the suspect said he killed his victim in self-defence as it was his deceased lover who first picked a kitchen knife to stab him when an argument ensued between them.

The suspect is currently in Police custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Benin.
