Ahmedu Obiabo, aka Blackface has revealed that the management of his former band member, Innocent Ujah Idibia aka 2Baba, initiated the out of court settlement which has now laid a longtime feud between the pair to rest.

Blackface in an interview with PUNCH also used the opportunity to set the record straight that 2Baba had dropped his N50m defamation suit against him, meaning the court case was not initiated by him (Blackface) as earlier reported.

The ‘Hard Life’ crooner said, “A case was filed against me and they have dropped the charges against me and that’s as simple as that. I can confirm that the charges have been dropped.

“They have dropped the N50m defamation suit against Blackface.”

“They dropped their case against me and that’s all for now, let us see how it goes. If there is any update, I will let you know,” he said.

Blackface had severally claimed that his former band mate had stolen and denied him royalties for his song titled ‘Let Somebody Love You’ and ‘African Queen’ which turned out to be the break-out song for 2Baba.

Speaking for the first time after reaching the agreement with Blackface on the defamation suit he (2Baba) brought before the Ikeja High Court, the ‘Implication’ crooner said he was glad that the matter had been finally laid to rest.

Reports say the pair signed an undisclosed settlement agreement on Wednesday at the Ikeja High Court after the suit was dropped with Blackface agreeing not to publicly call out 2Baba over the matter again.

In the agreement, 2Baba also decided to work out an agreement that will enable Blackface earn royalties from the songs he wrote for his former Plantaishun Boiz band member.
