Crisis hit Oyo muti-party coalition, as Lanlehin accuses Makinde of going against agreement

The Oyo State Governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has warned Permanent Secretaries and the office of the Accountant General to exercise restraint in releasing funds for what he said were hasty award of contracts just two weeks before the expiration of the tenure of Governor Abiola Ajimobi

Makinde gave the warning in a statement issued by his media aide, Dotun Oyelade.

“With less than two weeks to the exit of the current administration in Oyo State, the Governor Elect, Engr. Seyi Makinde has once again complained of reckless issuance of dubious contracts and other less than noble activities by the outgoing government.

“Accounting Officers of MDAs, Permanent Secretaries and the office of the Accountant General that are being used as conduit pipes to perfect the dubious acts, will have to explain their roles in the very near future.

“With the frenzy of malfeasance going on, all contracts awarded since March 11, 2019, and all fresh appointments within the same period will come under special focus”.

The governor-elect also warned that all options are on the table “as none of these actions are cast in stone or binding on the new administration.”

The state government, however denied engaging in hasty contracts.

The Special Adviser to the Governor Ajimobi, Mr. Bolaji Tunji, his reaction, said: “There is nothing like hasty award of contracts.

“As a government, we are going to work till the end of the tenure of this administration.”
