Pogba banned for Man United opener – FA

Paul Pogba has completed his medical ahead of his world-record transfer to Old Trafford and will be confirmed as a new Manchester United player in the coming days.

This is according to the Daily Mail, who understand the France international’s £100 million move from Juventus has now been sealed.

Pogba completed his medical in Los Angeles and it’s now a matter of time – possibly even hours – before United, who are keen to “parade their new signing”, officially announce the transfer.

The Mail claim that Pogba has agreed a five-year contract worth a staggering £290,000 a week and will wear the No. 6 shirt.

United fans had predicted that the 23-year-old would be handed the number six when the squad numbers were announced earlier this month.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was confirmed as the Red Devils’ new No. 9, Anthony Martial switched to No. 11, while Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay held on to numbers 10 and seven, respectively.

Pogba wore the No. 6 shirt for most of his Juventus spell, before switching to No. 10.

The world-class midfielder’s huge contract will also include bonuses to Juventus should he renew his contract with United or win the Ballon d’Or.

Pogba has been touted as a potential Ballon d’Or winner for the last few years and he acquisition is a major coup for United and their manager Jose Mourinho.
