Police arraign 24-yr-old for stealing N850,000

Murder suspect arrested after five months on the run

A 24-year-old man, Kenneth Obozua has been arraigned in court for stealing N850,000 and a computer central processing unit.

The Rivers State Police Command dragged Obozua before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court on Thursday, accusing him of burgling a petrol station belonging to one Mrs Eucharia Nwachukwu at Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt, and carting away the items on May 1, 2019, with the help of his accomplices, who are still at large.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Wilson Isaiah, informed the court that the offences contravened sections 516(a), 413(II) and 390(10a) of the Criminal Code CAP 37 Vol. II, Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria, 1999.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the three counts preferred against him.

The Chief Magistrate, Sokari Andrew-Jaja, granted bail to the accused and adjourned the matter till June 10, 2019, for hearing. Be
