Probe into teenage prisoners teargassed and stripped naked begins in Australia

An enquiry into the shabby treatment of teenage prisoners who were stripped naked and teargassed has been ordered by the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

The call was made after a video showing prison guards teargassing teenage inmates and strapping a half-naked, hooded-boy to a chair became public.

The video which shows the molestation and abuse of six aboriginal boys in a juvenile detention has now sparked fresh criticism of Australia’s shabby treatment of Aborigines who are reported to have more inmates in Australian prisons.
