Rivers PDP raises alarm over INEC's alleged plot to relocate collation centre

An alarm has been raised by the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party over an alleged plot by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to relocate a strategic collation centre.

According to the PDP, the electoral body is plotting to relocate the collation centre for the governorship election from Hotel Presidential to an undisclosed location.

The PDP also alleged that INEC is planning to relocate the collation centre on the request of the African Action Congress, AAC, and some other forces.

The allegations were made Mr. Felix Obuah, the State Chairman of the party, who said the PDP had it on good authority that INEC was acceding to the demands of a political party and some powerful persons.

Mr. Felix consequently cautioned INEC not to allow itself to be used to spark a constitutional crisis in the state.
