Late Sanchez goal seals Man Utd’s incredible comeback win over Newcastle

Alexis Sanchez scored a late winner for Manchester United as the Red Devils completed an incredible comeback win against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The hosts were two goals down by the end of the first half, but rallied back with three goals in the second half to seal the thrilling encounter with a 3-2 victory.

Rafa Benitez’s men scored twice in the first 10 minutes to take a commanding lead, with Kennedy and Yoshinori Muto breezing in to score.

But Jose Mourinho, who has been under pressure over recent run of results, brought Sanchez, Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini off the bench in pursuit of victory in the second half.

Mata swept home a free-kick in the 70th minute to open the windows of goals, as Anthony Martial added another six minutes after from from Paul Pogba’s pass, before Sanchez sealed the win by heading in Ashley Young’s cross at the stroke of full time.

United had been without a win in their last four matches in all competition, but they bounced back to winning ways with an incredible comeback that got the entire Old Trafford screaming with joy.
