Senate invites Buhari to address N’Assembly‎ over recession

Jibrin persuades Buhari to deal with Dogara, others he accused of budget padding
The Senate, today, passed a motion, inviting President Muhammadu Buhari to address a joint session of the National Assembly on how to get the country out of the current economic recession.
The passage of the motion is in line with an earlier motion passed by the House of Representatives on the 22nd of September, 2016, urging Buhari to address lawmakers.
Moving the motion, Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Bala Na’Allah, said: “The Senate do concur with the House of Representatives resolution passed on Thursday, 22nd September, 2016 to invite the President to address a joint session of the National Assembly to intimate it on plans to get the country out of recession to enable the House (Senate and House of Representatives) take further legislative action.”
Prior to the adoption of the motion, the Senate had passed 21 resolutions, primarily on how to get the country out of recession. The resolutions have been forwarded to President Buhari for onward implementation.
