Six million bottles of wine for Iniesta

Chongqing Dangdai Lifan of China will bid to buy six million bottles of wine in their attempts to land Barcelona star Andres Iniesta, according to reports in Spain.

The 33-year-old has announced he will be leaving the La Liga champions at the end of this season, with the Chinese Super League club appearing to be his destination.

A report from El Mundo Deportivo clarifies that the club will purchase six million bottles of wine that Iniesta’s family produce in Spain as part of the package.

The three-year contract offer is also set to land the Spain international with an eye-watering annual salary of €27m, according to the report.

The club’s chairman Jiang Lizhang is familiar with Spanish football as he also owns La Liga 123 club Granada and is said to have been working on landing Iniesta for some time.

However, Iniesta is yet to confirmed his destination after he leaves Barca, but has has ruled out staying in Europe.
