SOKOTO: Voters emerge in numbers, soldiers occupy roads

Residents in some parts of Sokoto State have trooped out in large numbers to vote, even as there is reported heavy presence of soldiers in some parts of the state

According to reports, electoral officers were just arriving at the units after 8:00 am while soldiers occupied major roads and roundabouts in the city ignoring officials on duty and people with their permanent voter cards.

There were also some movements, as those who had their voters card were allowed to pass at check points.
