TRAVEL BAN: Like Liverpool, Man City to play UCL clash in Budapest

Manchester City will be playing the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie against Borussia Monchengladbach in Budapest, Hungary.

The clash which ought to be played at the home ground of Monchengladbach was moved to a neutral ground after City were banned from travelling to Germany.

Premier League champions Liverpool had also been affected as Germany has banned most travel from countries affected by new variants of Covid-19.

Like Liverpool’s tie with RB Leipzig, the Manchester City game will now take place at the Puskas Arena which hosted the 2020 UEFA Super Cup.

While Liverpool will play on 16 February, City will take on their opponents on the 24th.

Premier League leaders Manchester City will host the return leg at Etihad Stadium on 16 March, while Reds will host Leipzig at Anfield on 10 March.
