‘A Rolls-Royce of a midfielder’ – Boro, fans heap praises on Mikel Obi
Following above average performances since his move to Middlesbrough, Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has become a source of delight for the club and its fans.
The 31-year old, who left the Chinese Super League for the English Championship side last month, has made five appearances for Boro, picking up two wins, two draws and one defeat.
He starred in their 1-0 victory over ten-man Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park today (Sunday), with Britt Assombalonga poking in Ashley Fletcher’s deflected shot on 19 minutes to secure all three points.
Mikel’s presence in the game added a lot of grit to the midfield setup, as they went on to record their 14th win of the season, having 54 points from 32 games.
