ABULE ADO EXPLOSION: Lagos govt presents cheques to victims’ families

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday presented cheques to families of victims of the March 15 explosion in the Abule-Ado area of the state.

At least 23 people including some school children died in an early morning explosion that rocked the community.

Several buildings were also destroyed in the blast.

The state government had earlier launched a N2 billion relief fund for the victims’ families.

The state Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, announced the presentation of the cheques to the families of the 23 victims on his Twitter handle.

Hamzat, who shared photos from the presentation of the cheques, wrote: “Today we presented cheques to the families of the 23 deceased victims of the Abule-Ado explosion. We hope the money will help provide some relief even as they miss their loved ones. We are also working with safety, power and other stakeholders to find a lasting solution to issues.”
