COPPA ITALIA: Juventus eye first of three possible titles

Italian giants Juventus are set to claim the first title of a possible domestic and European treble when they face Lazio in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night.

Lazio are fourth in Serie A, and a victory over them at the Stadio Olimpico tonight would secure for Juventus the Italian Cup for a third successive year.

Juve, who need a point from their final two matches in the top-flight to become champions, will also face Crotone on Sunday in their bid to lift a sixth consecutive Serie A title

After which, they play Spanish giants Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final in Cardiff on June 3rd.

“It’s one step at a time,” Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri said.

“We have to get right back on our feet for Wednesday and then again for our next league match against Crotone.

“Now we’ve got the cup final, then we’ll concentrate on the league and, lastly the Champions League.”

Lazio’s last major honour was the 2013 Coppa Italia. In 2015, Lazio faced Juve in the final, and Juve won 2-1 after extra-time.

Meanwhile, the only Italian club to have won the treble of league, cup and Champions League is Inter Milan, when managed by Jose Mourinho in 2010, and Juve are now in position to add to that record.
