PPD have met their match in Buhari- Presidency

While the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) continues to fight for its ‘stolen mandate’, the presidency on Thursday night mocked the main opposition party, stating that the PDP have met their match in President Muhammadu Buhari.

The presidency said that since the party suffered heavy loss in the just concluded presidential election, the party was doing everything possible to damage the foundation of democracy in the country.

The presidency was speaking in reaction to claims that the All Progressives Congress-led government was planning to stoke violence in Taraba State to pave way for a declaration of state of emergency.

Recall that the PDP also alleged that the presidency was planning to rig the rerun election in Sokoto State by using the military to intimidate the electorate.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in his reaction, said, “I don’t think we will comment. Since they suffered the biggest election loss in all presidential elections in the Fourth Republic, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been doing everything they can to damage the foundation of the country’s struggling democracy.

“By rejecting them at the polls, Nigerians are saying that they are sick of their pessimistic and negative politics. PDP believe they must be in power as a birthright.

“If they are not in power, in the states or at the center, they will use all means to spread instability. In President Buhari, they have met their match.”
