Sanusi meets Ganduje, counsels Nigerians to pray for deliverance

Despite the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission’s recommendation for his suspension, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi ll, met the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje on Tuesday.

The commission had recommended Sanusi’s suspension pending the determination of its investigation into alleged misappropriation of over N3.4bn by the emir.

The commission also suggested further legal action to be taken against all the persons investigated as soon as the outcome of investigations is concluded.

But the duo met at the Eid prayer ground, Kofar Mata, Kano and exchange pleasantries.

In a demonstration of religious leadership, the emir Immediately after observing their two raka’at congressional prayer approached the governor for a handshake.

Meanwhile, in his sermon at the praying ground, the emir warned politicians to stop converting Salah to political crusade where they canvass supporters.

The emir who urged Nigerians to pray for deliverance from banditry, kidnapping and other vices also called on political leaders to prioritize girl-child education for sustainable development of the country.

“I call on people to know that fasting and Sallah festivities are for all Muslims, it is not a political gathering. It is a period of unity and jubilation. I call on people, especially political leaders to fear God and avoid any act that will spoil their 30 days of fasting”, the emir said.
