Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo has won Manchester United’s Goal-of-the-Month award for March following his wonder strike against LASK in the Europa League.

The effort, which made the headlines despite being scored in an almost empty stadium, was Ighalo’s fourth goal for United.

United would later go score four more goals against the Austrians that night to stay well in command of the round of 16 tie.

The goal took home 32 per cent votes, beating off competition from Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes’s goals.

McTominay’s memorable late goal against Manchester City received 26 per cent to emerge second, while Fernandes’s first strike at Everton, finished third in the poll with 16 per cent.

Ighalo joined Manchester United on a six-month loan deal from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in January.

There have been talks of him getting a permanent deal at the end of the season, and also reports that his Chinese side are set to offer him a mouth-watering 400 euros-per-week deal to return.
