Kebbi State Governor, 24 elected lawmakers receive certificates of return from INEC

Gov. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and the 24 newly-elected House of Assembly members, in the just concluded general elections in Kebbi State, have been presented their Certificates of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The certificates were presented to the lawmakers-elect on Tuesday in Birinin Kebbi by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Muhammad Mahamud.

However, the state governor, who won his reelection bid as governor, was presented his certificate by the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara, Amina Bala Zakari.

The INEC Commissioner said the issuance of the certificates to the governor and elected state house of assembly members concludes all the electoral activities in Kebbi.

She commended Kebbi state as one of the most peaceful state in Nigeria where election was held peacefully.

“I didn’t see or hear anything adverse in Kebbi during the election. Kebbi is one of the most peaceful states where election was conducted peacefully “”

She promised that INEC would continue to improve the electoral process in Nigeria and appealed to elected leaders to work assiduously to deliver the dividends of democracy to all irrespective of party affiliations

In his acceptance remarks, governor Bagudu thanked the security, media and politicians for working assiduously during the campaigns and election period.The All Progressives Congress won all the 25 constituencies in the state.
