One killed, several others injured as PDP thugs disrupt APC rally in Bayelsa

Security operatives have reportedly arrested three persons suspected to be political thugs at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State, venue of the presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While supporters were awaiting the commencement of the event, the suspects were found to be in possession of some dangerous weapons and assorted charms as they attempted to gain entrance into the venue.

Supporters, including members of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) thronged the venue very early Monday morning as they await the presidential candidate of the party, President Muhammadu Buhari.

The security operatives including men of the Nigeria Police Force, Directorate of State Security, Nigerian Army and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps had barred further entrance into the venue of the rally.

This is coming, as there are also expectations of crisis, as tension has been building over the planned rally following plans by two factions of the party to host Buhari at the rally.

Former governor Olusegun Osoba and incumbent governor Ibikunle Amosun have been reported to be making separate arrangement ahead of the President’s visit.
