Osimhen, Etebo win at Glo CAF 2015 Awards

Nigeria youth sensation, Victor Osimhen has been adjudged Youth Player of the Year while Nigeria U-23 star Oghenekaro Etebo beat compatriot Azubuike Okechukwu to the CAF Most Promising Player at the 2015 Glo-CAF Awards Gala held on Thursday, 7 January 2016 in Abuja.

Osimhen wowed the world at the FIFA U-17 World Chile last October, scoring 10 goals to emerge top scorer and as well picking the Silver Ball (Second Best Player) as Nigeria cruised to victory.

Osimhen who is being chased by several top clubs in Europe edged compatriot Kelechi Nwakali, Malian duo Adama Traore and Samuel Diarra and Yaw Yeboah of Ghana for the award presented to best teenage footballer on the continent.

He becomes the second Nigerian to win the award after Kelechi Iheanacho last year.
Etebo was top goal scorer at the U23 AFCON in Senegal with five goals, while skipper Okechukwu was MVP of the tournament as Nigeria won the tournament and qualified for 2016 Rio Olympics.
