Residents flee as kidnappers besiege Lagos community, whisk away 5 victims

An invasion by kidnappers who abducted no less than five people with the promise of coming back for more has led residents of White Sand Estate in Ikotun/Igando Local Government Area, Lagos to flee the community in fear.

The threat to life by kidnappers in the area which has become a constant affair led to a protest by residents who stormed the Lagos State Governors office, and House of Assembly Complex in Alausa, with messages of ‘Save Our Soul’ to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

The residents of led by group under the auspices of Viable Community Development Association, in a protest letter signed by Chairman of the Community Development Association, Prince Adeniyi Olufemi, said the rampaging kidnappers have made many to flee their homes for safety.

“The community has been deserted because people flee every day. The said bad boys usually come between 6:30-7:30 pm with sophisticated weapons, shooting sporadically.

“As at today, a total number of five people have been kidnapped. These kidnappers promised to take away more 150 people”, the letter read in part.
